Pippa In The Garden

“Hey, Josh. Josh. Hello. Hello.”

Pippa was in her garden with an enormous sun hat on, waving.

“Pippa?”

“Tommy got some work experience with a law firm.”

“Oh, that is great.”

“Did you have something to do with that?”

“No, not me.”

“Yes, sure,” I said.

“So, I don’t have to thank you.”

“No thanks required, Pippa.”

“You are telling me the truth?”

“You are sounding like my mother.” I laughed.

“Really, Josh, how often do you lie to your mother?”

“I never lie to my mother, Pipa.”

“So, why would she ask you then?”

“It was just an expression.”

“Oh god, I hate talking to lawyers.”

Pipa laughed. “That’s kind of unfortunate, considering your job, Josh.”

I exhaled.

“Oh Josh, I am just playing with you now.”
